THE SWALLOW KINGDOM
The name “Swallow Kingdom” comes from a family myth that our grandfather transformed into a swallow. He came from Sweden and was very close to nature. Grandpa Baloney always told us he would return as a Swallow!!
When I moved into the house that I live and work in today, I was greeted by swallows that told me I had come to a creative kingdom full of peace, harmony and beauty. As each year unfolds, more art comes out of the studio spaces created in The Swallow Kingdom.
The first group of ceramic art pieces are now ready to share with you and put up for sale to collect and enjoy. Each one is numbered as one in a series. The total amount of ceramic pieces in a series will be decided by my creative energy and when I am ready to move onto a variation of the original design in shape, color and materials.
A series for me means types of shapes in bowls, plates, platters, tiles, scuptural works, using a certain color theme and motif.

I hope that you will find this site a place of inspirational art you want to collect, and enjoy. As a professional artist and educator I want to share with you my work and it's diverse nature in materials such as clay, glass, metal, textiles, drawing, painting, bookbinding and anything that I feel passionate about.
The first steps are to tell you a little about me and my work and begin selling The Swallow Kingdom ceramics called Swalloware which is pictured above. Available now to order are bowls in a variety of sizes. Square plates and oval platters are all hand made and featured here too.
The work created in The Swallow Kingdom reflects the place that it comes from - a harmonious, peaceful and beautiful home and art studio. I hope you can see this attitude reflected in the art work available. I also hope that it will attract a community of folks that want to share their ideas, inspiration and friendships. All of this will eventually influence the works I make and that you enjoy collecting.

Swalloware
The first collectible art pieces that will appear on this site for sale will be Swalloware!
Swalloware is a low fired utilitarian decorative art works in colors from the water and the sky. Swallows love to swoop over water and soar through the sky.
In the picture on this page, the swallows are flying over my hand painted kitchen floor and a hand made square plate.
